What You'll Need
Bow
Bows come in a variety of styles, including recurve, compound, longbows and crossbows. They are typically made from wood or a fiberglass composite.
Arrows
Arrows are made from fiberglass, carbon or aluminum. Aluminum arrows fly the straightest but can easily be bent. Carbon arrows will not bend, but do not fly as straight as aluminum. Fiberglass arrows are mostly used for target practice because of their light weight.
Sights
Sights can be attached to a bow to give greater accuracy at long ranges. This can be something as simple as colored pins that aid in aiming or an advanced laser targeting system.
Targets
Targets can be anything from a foam block to a replica of an animal that you can buy at local hunting stores or make yourself. A target is used to perfect aiming and distance of shooting the bow and arrow.
Rests
A rest is placed on the bow and is used for the arrows to sit on before shooting the arrow.
Release
To make pulling back the bow strings and releasing them easier a release is used to clip to the strings and a latch is touched by the thumb to release the strings.
Somewhere to practice
Always make sure to practice in a designated area meant to be used for archery. There are local archery practice areas or practice areas outdoors.
