Paintbrushes for acrylics come in many different shapes and sizes. The shapes and sizes of the brushes you choose to work with will depend mainly on how large you want to work, and how detailed you want to get.

Acrylic- good for beginners, easy to work with, thicker than watercolor, easy to blend, dry quickly
watercolor paint- cheap, easy, thin transparent paint, used mainly on paper
spray paint- pressurized paint can, inexpensive, easy to store, varied softness and crispness of the spray and size of spray, airbrushes are handheld and used for detail, stencils are used a lot with spray paint,
oil paint- thick and easy to control, take long time to dry, can change forms and textures, expensive and more materials are needed, quite messy, can't use water to clean, must use a sort of turpentine, some are water based
