Chalkfest 2016

Welcome to the greatest artistic experience to hit La Crosse! Chalkfest is a community event located in beautiful Riverside Park in Downtown La Crosse. Artists from the community and around the state will participate in a frenzy of creative energy in creating large-scale chalk murals all across the park. Community members are encouraged to stop down and watch the artists create their masterpieces throughout the day, with activities, food and live music happening all day and an award ceremony taking place in the evening.

Join Us!

This annual event takes place all day on Saturday, August 6th of 2016. Artists will begin working on their murals at 7:00am and final pieces will be judged at 5:00pm with awards announced at 6:00pm. The public is welcome all day long to view the artists and the work. There will be food vendors located along Harborview Plaza and live music scheduled starting at noon at the band shell.

Family Friendly!

Let your kids become inspired by all the artists creating at the park! There will be a free kids area where kids are given chalk and allowed to let their imaginations run wild on the sidewalk. There will also be chalk-related games for the kids (and adults!) to watch and participate.

New This Year!

Along with a fantastic new location, chalkfest is also inviting art vendors to participate in the festival! A designated area along the Front Street area of the park will hold over 50 local and regional art vendors with wares ranging from art prints and ceramics to hand made jewelry and clothing! We are so excited to add another dimension to Chalkfest to make it truly a fantastic family friendly community event.
