Artist Information

So you have decided to be a Chalkfest artist. Congratulations! This is a great opportunity to show the world your amazing chalking talent! Before you sign up there are some things you should know about this amazing event.

Registration

There is a registration fee when you apply to be a chalkfest artist. This fee helps run the event by renting the park, renting the equipment needed for activities, and any fees the city charges for using the public space. Registration fees vary depending on the space you wish to use:

Included in your fee you will receive:

  1. One box of 48 colored chalk pastels
  2. One Blending Sponge
  3. One coupon for a free bottle of water
  4. One coupon for 10% at an artist booth
  5. One free Chalkfest T-shirt

All these supplies will also be sold individually at the Chalkfest booth on site if you need to purchase additional supplies.

The Day of the Event

To allow our artists ample time to complete their murals, we are beginning event check-in early this year starting at 6:00 AM. This will hopefully allow artists to get more work done in the shade than in previous years. Check in will run from 6:00AM-10:00AM. Any spots that have not been claimed by 10:00AM will be given to artists on the waiting list that are present. If you are a registered artist, You Must check in by 10:00 or your spot will be given away. To check in, simply find the Chalkfest registration tent and give them your information and they will guide you to your location and give you your supplies. Artists are allowed to work until 5:00PM. At this time the judges will begin their rounds to decide the awards. At 6:00PM there will be a small ceremony to thank our sponsors and give out the awards for Best Individual (adult and Youth), Best Group (adult and Youth), and Audience Choice. There will also be two runner up awards for each category as well.
