Origami Supplies
One of the many advantages of practicing origami is the low cost of supplies needed. True origami consists of only paper folding, however some newer techniques include cutting the paper and adding flourishes with markers. Before you begin your origami, you will need:
Paper
This is the most essential element in Origami, as most patterns only call for paper. Because it is so important, it is crucial to start with good paper. Many craft stores sell pre-cut origami paper. I highly recommend this, as precision in the papers size is critical. A great online resource is the origami paper shop.
Scissors
For small cuts to add exciting elements to your Origami.
Tape
In some origami, well-placed tape can create cleaner folds and shapes.
Markers
Some Origami, particularly animals, can really benefit from the addition of eyes, ears, scales, etc. This can be achieved easily with a few marks with a pen or markers.
