La Crosse State Teacher College Training School Building
Story
The School was built in late 19th & 20th Century Revival architectural style. The architect was Brust and Brust. It was built in 1939 at a cost of $325,000 (45% received form Public Works Administration). It was used to educate teachers and taught kindergarten through 8th grade. It is currently used as offices. The School has also been known as Thomas Morris Hall.
Historic Significance
It is historically significant because of its associations with the history of education training and curriculum and an example of a Public Works Administration (PWA) New Deal. It became a National Historical Place in July 1999. The exterior of the building has had few changes. The interior has changed, but the original hallways and many of the public areas have been preserved
