The Great Barrier Reef
The Great Barrier Reef, located in the Coral Sea, is off of the coast of Australia and extends over 14 degrees of latitude. Along with its size, the most impressive part of the reef is the enormous number of wildlife that calls it home. There are over 600 species of hard and soft coral, and over 1500 types of fish located here. Around 30 species of whales and dolphins reside here, living alongside sea turtles, crocodiles and nearby-roosting birds.
